Does anybody else find that when their sleep has been repeatedly disturbed at night - like by a barking dog - the next day they feel like total crud?
Logged

Took Pregabalin 75ms at night in August 08. Suffered memory loss, cognitive impairment, fatigue on third day.  Tapered over three weeks.  Took at total of 637.5 mgs.  Side effects lasted 2 mos., after that I felt recovered.  April 09 drank one glass of mature whiskey and suffered arthralgia, vivid dreams, nightmares, sleep problems.

I've been benzo free for 3 years and 9 months as of yesterday and I still have periods where I wake up way too early and can't fall back asleep. Early on in withdrawal I had very bad insomnia where I wouldn't get any sleep. It gets better but if you had sleep issues before benzos, you'll probably have them just as strongly years after recovery. I've come to accept that it's just the way I'm built and drugs aren't the solution.

By the way, I didn't know I still had this site bookmarked on this computer and surprisingly, my username and password still works! Hello to RUNVS and the other people I went thru the benzo experience with. I'm still alive and kicking.

Quit Xanax cold turkey 3 years ago. Reinstated with Klonopin, Restoril, Lexapro, Seroquel. Quit Seroquel and Lexapro summer 2005. Started Diazepam taper May, 2005. Finished taper March 17th 2006. Still don't sleep as much as I would like.

Yep, i'm 12 months off benzo's, my withdrawals are ok, they are only set off by two things now.

1. a flu..
2. not getting a decent nights sleep.

Regards tan..
Logged

Was on 5mg Valium for 4 months, Cold turkey'ed unfortunately, and had to reinstate and taper off over about 3 months.
Had withdrawals from the CT all through the taper, and had withdrawals for about another 9 months after being Benzo free.

I take Seroquel for sleep.  Some nights, I sleep better than others - but, overall - with the Seroquel - sleep is OK although I still have many, many withdrawal symptoms.

(2yrs. 10 mos. off Klonopin & Restoril).

I've had insomnia for 20+ years and this is the first time in a long time I haven't taken any meds to help me sleep.   I'm surprised that I'm sleeping at all, but it's very fragmented (I wake often and wake too early). When I do finally start to get up, I feel horrible.  It's like I can be in bed for 10 hours but only 6 or 7 of that is actual sleep (typically I need 9 hours to function).
