Yeah. No.

It made me suicidal. I was given this for nerve pain. Worst drug ever. Hate it. I was on a small dose and at first it made me sleepy, then it pretty much made me want to die.

Glad you are getting relief, but be careful!

Sorry about your neck and shoulder pain, I get that too and it's just awful.

 Smiley  Hi, Kathy!

I am so very sorry that you are having such a hard
time!

You say that you are having psychotic episodes?
What do you experience?

It surely sounds to me that the Elavil helped for
awhile, relative to relief from withdrawal symptoms.
Now that you are no longer using it, the w/d
has come back full force.

And you are finding that you believe the thoughts
that you are having.  I remember this happening
for me!  Boy, do I remember.

I wish that I had a workable solution for you,
or one that I could suggest.

I had the suicidal thoughts.  I had all kinds
of bizarre thoughts.  I fought them, Kathy!
I had to keep reminding myself, (as I have
told you before), that all of these thoughts
were do to withdrawing from meds.  It
was not ME!  Sometimes you even think
that you will act upon them.  You WON'T!
Within you, still, is the capacity to choose.
If you can write a coherent sentence, (as
you do), YOU are still there!  The thoughts
are coming from the messed up chemistry.
You will be able to manage these thoughts,
in time.  You WILL get better!  The crazy
thoughts will start to go away!

I was greatly helped by just re-reading
replies that I made on BW and by writing.
I could see that I was making sense,
even when my mind was so messed up.
I began to realize that I was not crazy!

I'll bet I have said this to you before!

Hang on!  Hang on!  Hang on!  It is a
hideous time period for you.  I better
time period lies ahead!

Lazlo, you, too have neck and shoulder
pain!?  I am sorry.  I have it in my
right shoulder, my upper and lower back,
and in my right buttock.  It drives me
crazy!  I hope that your pain will, in
time, disappear!  I honestly do not
understand how going off a benzo can
do this!  I am sure there is a scientific
explanation; but, given that I don't
have that explanation, I just don't get
how this can happen.

Here's hoping that we all experience
some relief SOON!

I hope you both have a better day today!

Warmly,

Judy   Afro

Hi Kathy,

Hang on in there for the ride, as this will pass.

The doc wanted me to take a larger dose too.  I had a very bad reaction to this stuff and now wear a medical bracelet that advises that I am allergic to it, along with a stack of other shrink drugs.

You will be OK.

Reinstated Aug '07 after cold-turkeyed by doctor from 2 mgs Klonopin.  Prior to that  other doctors really made a meal of me with benzos.  Began tapering from 41 mgs valium Sept '07.

Benzo free 9 April '09.   Tramadol free 20 Sept '09 and drug free.   Still struggling, strong withdrawal symptoms.

Hi Heather,
I'm wondering...what happens if you take a drug you're allergic to? Is it just the normal type allergic reaction with the hives, swelling and all that?
It's a good idea to maybe wear a bracelet like that even if one isn't allergic. If you don't want them giving you certain drugs that's the perfect thing!

Never felt W/D. Perhaps never addicted. Using benzos reasonably, responsibly and occasionally.
